L'emuu began with a simple observation:

Long before L'emuu existed, our work regularly took us to communities in the Dominican Republic and along the Haitian border, serving alongside medical teams in areas where access to quality skincare is often limited.
There, we met families who did the best they could with whatever products were available. Many had little choice beyond inexpensive creams made with harsh ingredients or products that simply weren't designed with long-term skin health in mind.
Those experiences reinforced something we already believed:
Quality skincare should never be a privilege reserved for a few.
